The Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (TIDCO) and Acumen, Part of Sannam S4 Group, have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to establish a strategic partnership aimed at advancing the internationalisation of higher education and transnational education (TNE) in Tamil Nadu. This collaboration aligns with the Government of Tamil Nadu’s vision, under the leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and the Hon’ble Minister for Industries, to strengthen education, research, and innovation as key enablers of economic growth, global competitiveness, and talent development, while positioning the state as a globally connected knowledge hub.
Under the LOI, Acumen will support TIDCO in facilitating high-quality international university partnerships, enabling sustainable institutional presence, and fostering research-led and innovation-driven academic collaboration. Drawing on its experience working across some of the world’s leading university systems and international education destinations, Acumen has been at the forefront of shaping high-quality transnational education models that bring globally benchmarked international education into India. This work builds on Acumen’s contribution to the NITI Aayog–led initiative, in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and the Association Of Indian Universities (AIU), on the internationalisation of Indian higher education, and closely aligns with TIDCO’s vision of developing globally connected, research-led education and innovation ecosystems, making this partnership a strong strategic fit.
The LOI reflects a shared commitment by TIDCO and Acumen to pursue structured international engagement in good faith and provides a non-binding framework for future collaboration. Through focused market intelligence, institutional benchmarking, partnership development and advisory support, the partnership seeks to lay the foundation for long-term, high-impact international collaborations, supporting Tamil Nadu’s ambition to emerge as a leading destination for global academic partnerships, research excellence, and innovation-led education.
